Job Title: SR.SDET
Location: Reston, VA

We are seeking a Senior SDET with extensive experience in UI, Web Services, Accessibility , and Mobile Test Automation . The ideal candidate will work closely with product owners, developers, and QA teams to develop robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions. The position requires hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, modern programming languages, and accessibility testing tools.

This is a hybrid role with on-site presence required as per project needs .

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze user stories and acceptance criteria; design and implement in-sprint automated tests for Web/UI, Web Services , and Mobile applications .

2. Develop automation scripts using tools such as Selenium , Cucumber , SoapUI , and BDD frameworks .

3. Build, maintain, and enhance test automation frameworks aligned with enterprise best practices.

4. Perform accessibility testing using assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (iOS), TalkBack (Android)).

5. Apply knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2 , Section 508 , and ADA accessibility standards.

6. Prepare test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts with defined expected results.

7. Analyze test results and system behavior to identify and document bugs or performance bottlenecks.

8. Report and manage defects using JIRA and track them through resolution.

9. Execute automated test suites and regression tests via CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins .

10. Continuously improve and refactor automation code for efficiency and scalability.

11. Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and team meetings.

12. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather test data requirements and validate results.

13. Stay current with emerging testing tools, trends, and best practices.

14. Ensure effective communication of test coverage, status, and quality metrics.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology

• In lieu of a degree : 4 additional years of relevant experience

Experience:

• 8–10 years of experience in software development and/or software testing

• Minimum 5 years in automated testing and framework development

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with:

• Selenium , Cucumber , BDD

• Java , JavaScript , SQL/PL-SQL

• Appium for mobile test automation

• SoapUI or similar for web services/API testing

• Experience with:

• Test automation framework design and development

• Relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, DB2)

• Writing and debugging complex SQL queries

• CI/CD tools like Jenkins

• Deep understanding of:

• Accessibility testing tools (WAVE, AXE, CCA)

• WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2 , 508 compliance , screen readers , and accessible document testing (PDF, Excel)

  Other Skills & Abilities:

• Proven ability to work independently and within a team

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Agile and Waterfall SDLC experience

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to Generative AI in automated testing

• Experience in healthcare domain

• Knowledge of wireless networks and mobile systems
