About the Opportunity
Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is hiring a Boiler Operator to join its Syracuse-based team. In this critical maintenance role, you'll operate and maintain complex powerhouse systems including high-pressure boilers, steam stations, and compressed air systems.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in industrial facilities, especially those who enjoy troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components.
What You’ll Do
● Operate, install, and repair high-pressure steam boilers, air compressors, and associated equipment
● Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on pumps, motors, and power generation systems
● Troubleshoot both analog and digital control systems
● Conduct chemical tests to ensure boiler performance and safety
● Read and interpret electrical/plumbing diagrams and mechanical blueprints
● Use hand tools, pipe fitting equipment, torches, and soldering tools as required
● Maintain energy management systems, including time schedule entry and updates
● Repair and replace piping systems carrying steam, water, gas, compressed air, and oil
What You Bring
● 3+ years of experience with steam boilers, air compressors, motors, pumps, electrical equipment, and pressurized piping
● Proficiency in reading schematics and mechanical blueprints
● U.S. work authorization required
Preferred:
● Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
● 5+ years in a powerhouse technician role
● Mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair skills
