We’re seeking a Professional Environmental Engineer (PE) ready to take ownership of projects from conception through close-out. This is a dynamic opportunity for an engineer who thrives on solving complex environmental challenges, managing regulatory compliance, and driving sustainable solutions for clients in both the public and private sectors.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER THAT HOLDS A VALID PE LICENSE. IF YOU ARE NOT A PE OR HAVE ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINNERING IN YOUR RECENT BACKGROUND, YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental compliance programs involving air, water, waste, stormwater, and remediation systems.

  • Develop and prepare engineering design plans, calculations, and permit applications for submittal to regulatory agencies.

  • Oversee PFAS and emerging contaminant investigations, ensuring accurate sampling, analysis, and reporting.

  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, FDEP, NCDEQ, RRC, NDDEQ, SD DANR, etc.).

  • Coordinate fieldwork and field staff to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

  • Serve as a technical lead for remediation design and implementation, working collaboratively with project managers and senior leadership.

  • Support corporate sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives, including waste reduction and carbon tracking efforts.

  • Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and client communications, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Mentor junior engineers and field personnel to promote skill development and quality performance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • 2–5 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering, compliance, or remediation.

  • Strong technical knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and design standards.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate teams, and maintain client relationships.

  • Excellent technical writing, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365; AutoCAD, HydroCAD, or GIS experience preferred.

  • Ability to conduct and oversee fieldwork, including environmental sampling and inspections when needed.

  • Must be able to travel throughout the Southeast (FL, GA, SC, and NC) as project needs require.

  • Must pass background check, drug/alcohol screening, and MVR review.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Why Join Earth Systems
  • Work that matters: Lead projects that directly protect natural resources and communities.

  • Professional growth: Opportunity to expand leadership responsibilities and specialize in regulatory compliance or sustainability.

  • Strong team culture: Collaborative environment with technical experts across multiple disciplines.

  • Regional impact: Be part of high-visibility projects throughout the Southeast.

  • Comprehensive benefits: Competitive compensation, full health coverage, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and career development support.
