Job Summary This role is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service, consistent operating conditions and a friendly atmosphere. Job Purpose To enhance customer experience and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, thereby maintaining a safe and welcoming store environment. Essential Responsibilities Compliance – 50% of time: Observe customers and check identification for age verification, ensuring that customers who should not be served additional alcohol are identified and monitored to prevent open containers from leaving the store. Deny sale of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated customers. Customer Excellence – 25% of time: Provide continuous attention to customers' needs. Greet, assist, and thank customers promptly, courteously, and in a friendly manner. Offer product suggestions to customers when appropriate. Operational Excellence – 25% of time: Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control. Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost. Operate department equipment and tools; operate cashiering equipment accurately and efficiently, recognizing all forms of tender and providing the correct change when appropriate. Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report faulty equipment and hazards to management. Disclaimer Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education: High School / GED Preferred Education: High School / GED Diploma Language Requirements: English (required); English and Spanish (preferred) Relevant Experience: 0–3 years of experience; no supervisory experience required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Must be at least 21 years of age. TIPS Training required prior to position start date. *See Addendum Below. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and proficiently follow instructions. Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same. Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test and background check. Compliance with all company policies and procedures. High standard of integrity and reliability. Basic computer skills required to participate in online training. Customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced and busy environment. Environmental Factors: Retail – General Heavy. Physical demands include standing or walking on various floor types, manual dexterity, reaching overhead, carrying, pushing, and lifting up to 250 lbs. Working conditions include indoor, outdoor, cold, heated, and wet/humid environments. Safety risk factors include slippery floors, hazardous equipment, and exposure to noise and chemicals. Required equipment includes cleaning supplies, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, racks, carts, pallet jacks, and shopping carts. Travel / Overnight: None.
