Liquor Store Manager II Job Summary This role will effectively lead, manage, and develop overall stand‑alone liquor store operations and associates to execute best practices and maximize sales and profitability. Responsible for the profit and loss (P&L) for the store and must use leadership and merchandising skills to manage product levels and make sound business decisions by creating a shopping and working environment that exemplifies the company’s commitment to and vision of service, quality, and neighborhood partnerships. Job Purpose Lead and develop the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, financial performance, and associate development. Essential Responsibilities Store Leadership: Leads and empowers teams to deliver a great shopping experience, demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service, ensures associates greet and assist customers promptly, establishes professional relationships with customers, associates, vendors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies. (40%) Financial Leadership: Oversees the financial budget, inventory, shrink, expenses, labor and supply management, cash control, maximizes sales and profits, reviews P&L to identify opportunities, and communicates store status and action plans with the district manager. (40%) Associate Leadership: Recruits, interviews, hires qualified associates, provides orientation and training, conducts evaluations, manages performance, ensures compliance with all state and federal employment laws, and partners with HR and legal. (20%) Performs other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education: High School / GED Diploma Preferred Education: None specified Language Requirements: English Preferred: English and Spanish Relevant Experience: 3–6 years supervisory experience minimum; 1–5 years supervisory experience minimum (mid or senior management) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Must be at least 21 years of age. Proven experience in a SEG lead position or at least one year management/supervisory experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels or general business. Possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of placement. High standard of integrity and reliability. Demonstrated strong customer service skills, effectively addressing customer issues, and controlling business impact. Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department. Knowledge of liquor, wines, and beers. Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, customer service, and communication skills. Alcohol Compliance Training. Environmental Factors Physical demands: regular standing or walking on various flooring, manual dexterity, repetitive hand/foot movements, reaching overhead, lifting loads up to 250 lbs, occasional kneeling or climbing. Working conditions may include indoor, outdoor, cold, heated, damp, or noisy environments. Safety risks include slips, exposure to sharp objects, chemical hazards, etc. Required equipment: cleaning supplies, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, pallet jacks, stepping equipment. Personal protective equipment: goggles, gloves, cutting gloves, fryer gloves, oven gloves. Lifting requirement: 70 lbs. Travel: none. Overnight: no. Shift(s): Varied shifts including morning, afternoon, evening, closing; includes at least one closing shift per week.
