About the Role:

The Territory Sales Manager for Food & Grocery plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding market presence within the transportation and warehousing sector. This position is responsible for managing and developing client relationships across the assigned territory, ensuring that customer needs are met with tailored logistics solutions. The role requires strategic planning to identify new business opportunities while maintaining strong partnerships with existing customers. The manager will collaborate closely with internal teams to optimize service delivery and address any operational challenges. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance customer satisfaction and achieve sales targets by leveraging industry knowledge and market insights.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in transportation, warehousing, or logistics, preferably within the food and grocery sector.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and warehousing operations and industry regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with refrigerated or temperature-controlled logistics solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in sales, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Established network of contacts within the food and grocery industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and negotiate contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets within the assigned territory focused on food and grocery clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their logistics needs and providing customized transportation and warehousing solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, customer service, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve any client issues promptly.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.

Skills:

The Territory Sales Manager will utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills daily to build trust and rapport with clients and internal teams. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting market data and sales metrics to make informed decisions and adjust strategies accordingly. Negotiation and persuasion skills are frequently applied to close deals and secure favorable terms for both the company and customers. Organizational skills help manage multiple accounts and prioritize activities to maximize efficiency and sales outcomes. Additionally, proficiency with CRM and sales software supports tracking customer interactions and forecasting sales performance effectively.
