Business Operations Manager Development Program

A Structured 18-Month Pathway from Trainee to Manager

JLGOV LLC is developing our next Business Operations Manager through a performance-based career acceleration program. You'll learn to manage an AI-automated back office while gaining expertise in HR, accounting, compliance, and federal contracting operations. Your performance is key and determines the future outcome.

The future belongs to managers who can orchestrate automated systems, ensure data integrity, oversee compliance, and drive strategic process improvement. You'll shadow our current Business Operations Manager while participating in our initiative to fully automate HR, accounting, and compliance functions using AI tools, transforming from executing tasks to managing intelligent systems.

Your Three-Phase Entry-Level Development Journey

  • Phase 1: Foundation (Months 1-3) Business Operations Trainee
    Begin compensation rate: $16/hour
  • Begins Part-Time up to 30 hours a week while training
  • Receive immersive mentorship while learning payroll preparation, vendor coordination, invoicing, and compliance tracking. Gain hands-on training with AI automation tools and federal client requirements. Must have some level of accounting/QuickBooks and human resources background. (See below)
  • Phase 2: Transition (Months 4-12) Office Coordinator
    20% pay increase + Health Benefits + PTO
  • Manage automated workflows with increasing independence. Coordinate with our outsourced accounting vendor, maintain business licensing and certifications, and expand compliance monitoring responsibilities.
  • Phase 3: Advancement (after 18 months) Business Operations Manager
    Competitive salary + an additional 20% increase based onperformance
  • Take primary ownership of automated back-office operations. Drive continuous process improvement, ensure compliance, mentor staff, and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership.

The Ideal Candidate

Required and Must Have:

  • Some experience or coursework in HR, accounting/QuickBooks, and business operations
  • Exposure to government contracting or federal client environments
  • Minimum 1 year proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel and Word)
  • U.S. work authorization
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Virginia Beach, VA (no exceptions)
