What you will do - Essential responsibilities

• Safely load, secure, transport, and offload CarMax vehicles using a company-assigned car hauler.
• Deliver vehicles in a timely manner to ensure optimal inventory movement and customer satisfaction.
• Operate equipment with a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and cleanliness, preserving a well-maintained truck and trailer.
• Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment according to DOT and CarMax standards.
• Keep accurate DOT logs and documentation to ensure compliance.
• Represent CarMax professionally with vendors, store associates, and the public.

Qualifications and requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience; military Heavy/Medium Tactical Vehicle experience counts.
• If lacking Class A CDL driving experience, current CarMax Associates may apply if they have:
• A valid Class A CDL
• 2+ years of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driving experience at CarMax
• No preventable safety incidents in the past two years (verified by the Safety & Compliance Team)
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; candidates must meet CarMax's Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Ability to meet DOT and FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and winch transported vehicles while loading.
• Proficient in operating a 10-speed transmission.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills.
